Being a breast cancer graduate, I have a very up close and personal relationship with Brocolli Sprouts. It’s been 6 years since the Super Sprout team phoned me out of the blue for a chat. I had been posting information about the benefits of broccoli sprouts for managing my risks of reoccurrence.
Power of sulforaphane and Diindoylymethane (DIM) & broccoli sprout powder
Living in my ‘CANCER RESEARCH CENTRE’ for the year of treatment I’d reviewed a plethora of research studies and documentation. I’d completed surgery, chemotherapy and radiation but by the time the hormone treatment phase come around, hormone blocker drugs just didn’t sit right with me. Everything I read was pointing me to broccoli sprouts and the benefits of Sulforaphane and DIM as a cancer prevention and hormone balancer. Even Memorial Sloan Kettering was bragging about the good ol broc.
Broccoli sprouts are young broccoli plants. They contain compounds, such as Sulforaphane, with strong chemopreventive effects. Studies in humans suggest that broccoli sprouts can help to eliminate environmental toxins, protect against bacterial infections and against oxidative damage.
Studies have shown that this amazing compound, Sulforaphane, is capable of switching on and off genes for the purpose of stopping tumoral cells from replicating and spreading. Sulforaphane may also cause cancer cells to self-destruct, a process known as apoptosis.
The benefit of the Super Spouts powder is that it contains the precursors to Sulforaphane, which when combined with water provides high levels of the compound. Watch Super Sprout Broccoli Sprouts produce Sulforaphane for more details.
In hindsight, I’d lived a life of estrogen dominance with a history of endometriosis, hemithyroidectomy, no kids and a high stress occupation which results in high levels of the cortisol hormone . Estrogen dominance has been identified as a contributing factor to breast cancer and a few other cancers.
There are 3 different pathways, 2, 4 and 16 Hydroxy estrone pathways that your body uses to metabolises estrogen. It is believed that OH2 is a healthy pathway while the other two (OH4 & OH16) can lead to increased cancer risk, cysts and fibroids.
Studies also indicate that broccoli contains DIM, a phytonutrient (plant nutrient) found in cruciferous vegetable which promotes beneficial estrogen metabolism and is protective for hormone-sensitive cancers.
There are many reasons to add Super Sprout Broccoli Sprout Powder to your grocery list, particularly when 3-day-old broccoli sprouts contain as much as 50 times the amount of some of the health-boosting phytonutrients of the mature broccoli head, according to Johns Hopkins University,
From the perspective of managing the risk of a cancer reoccurrence, broccoli sprout powder is a no brainer!
But it seems the research for broccoli just keeps mounting. Sulforaphane has now been recognised as beneficial in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). There is recent evidence that Sulforaphane upregulates genes that protect aerobic cells against oxidative stress, inflammation, and DNA-damage, all of which are prominent and possibly mechanistic characteristics of ASD.
Kale Sprout Powder – Among the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet
While not as well researched as some of its fellow cruciferous vegetables like broccoli or cabbage, kale is a food that you can count on for some unsurpassed health benefits, if for no other reason than its exceptional nutrient richness.
Kale’s risk-lowering benefits for cancer have recently been extended to at least five different types of cancer. These types include cancer of the bladder, breast, colon, ovary, and prostate.
Any way you look at it, anti-cancer benefits, hormone balancer, autism support, the high potency and convenience of a powdered nutrient dense, pure ,whole food, it’s an easy decision to add Super Sprout Powders to your daily eating plan. Now with both Broccoli and Kale Sprouts in the pantry there is greater opportunity to whip up a magic creation, here is my latest:
